Paint, tracks, fire, and a volcano - Dreamworld Update 10/2/2022

The summer peak season is well and truely over. QLD locals have returned to work and school, and work has started up again on the various projects around the park.

We take a look at the active projects to give you an update.

Dreamworld Railway

Work has met a major milestone with the new section of Dreamworld Railway Track now connected to the old part of the line near the Giant Drop.

The train line was disconnected at Rocky Hollow Station to allow for construction of Steel Taipan.

Mick Doohans Motorcoaster

Mick Doohans Motorcoaster was getting some pressure washing done on the track today. From this angle you can see some of the hedging has been removed from the Mick Doohan Motorcoaster to allow for the new train line.

The new train line gets very close to the Roller Coaster.

Central Station Refurbishment

Refurbishment of Central Station is continuing. New colours have started appearing on the various parts of the building giving us a hint of the regal colour scheme this icon will be taking on.

Most of the pilars have been repainted.

The planting which engulfed the building (and was a pest for many years) has been removed, revealing the white pattern on the right corner of the tower, a remnant from when the building was last overhauled and painted blue, yellow and white.

New Fire Station Feature

The Fire Station opposite Central Station has a new feature. Press the red button to call Fireman Kenny.

Whilst it isn’t much, it is a very cute feature which turned a rather “dead” corner of the park and has given the building some life again. We would love to see more little details like this put in around the park.

Billabong No More?

A once prominent sign advertising the Billabong Restaurant has been removed.

Does this mean the restaurant is not returning in its previous format?

Blue Lagoon

The opening of Steel Taipan has now allowed easy access to view the old volcano structure in the old Blue Lagoon area, Dreamworlds original water park.

With all the demolition in and around that area, we wonder why it was left standing..

That will do for this update. Thank you for your support, be it via liking us on our Facebook page, or following us on Instagram, every like, follow and share is greatly appreciated.
